Why join the fraternity for life?
Why Join Tau Kappa Epsilon? Why wouldn’t you? Many have asked the same questions before making one of the greatest decisions, a decision to become a part of a brother hood, a bond. Becoming a brother within the largest international fraternity brings a sense of honor and valor. As Tekes, we believe in being true gentlemen, gentlemen that believe in academics above all else. We share the ideals of many great men that have come before us. Ronald Reagan, Aaron Rodgers, Elvis Pressley, Earl Pomeroy, Robert Byrd and Saint Cloud’s own Zachary Dorholt have all gone through the special experience that is becoming a Teke. We honor that past by protecting the future. A future that proceeds to bring men through the chaos that is the collegiate experience and help them realize their true potential within this world. Our motto says it all: Better Men for a Better World. We have continued to keep that sacred tradition alive and well here at the Theta Rho chapter here at Saint Cloud State University. We currently have twenty-nine active members. And a few would enjoy sharing their stories on why they chose to become a Teke.

Frater Jared Munson's Story
When I came to St Cloud State in the fall of 2011, I didn’t think too highly of Greek life, in fact I was hostile to the idea. My suitemate in Benton Hall was becoming a member of TKE and pressed me into meeting some of the guys. I said no several times, mainly because I was still not sure about fraternities, but also because I was scared.
However during the following spring, I realized that I slowly met many of the men of Tau Kappa Epsilon. And in that realization, I came to know them as great people. With the help of several people, including Lance Pemberton, Tim Hrubetz, Brett Haider and our current Sweetheart, Alyssa Wolf, I made the decision to accept a bid to join. And I will never regret that decision, ever! I went through the education of what it meant to be a Teke in the fall of 2012, becoming a full member that November. Rhymes! I realized what a huge honor that came with it.
I then became the Recruitment Chair this semester, and I have thrown myself into the role. While exhausting, it has been truly fulfilling. I became a Teke because of the ideals of brotherhood and the bond it creates. I will never turn back!
